There is a 2 night deposit required at the time of reservation if your reservation is made by phone. Online reservations require full payment at time of booking for deposit. Room, taxes and fees for the entire stay is required 30 days prior to arrival.

Lodging Cancellations: Guest reservations lodging deposit is fully refundable up to 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations canceled 29-15 days prior to arrival will be charged 2-nights lodging, taxes and fees. Reservations canceled within 14 days are non-refundable. Consider purchasing trip insurance for unforeseen cancellations.

Walk on the snow and take in the views of Alta Ski Area at your own pace with snowshoeing. Learn about the history of the area with a guided snowshoe tour led by a naturalist. On this adventure, you’ll learn about the wildlife and trees of the area along with the history of Little Cottonwood Canyon and Alta. Snowshoes can be rented at the Powder House Ski Shop on Level A inside Snowpine Lodge.

Snowshoeing at Alta is permitted on Summer Road, located near the Albion Base area. From here, explore the gradual slopes up into the Grizzly Gulch area or head towards the top of the Sunnyside Lift.

Getting to Salt Lake City and Snowbird

Basically, if you fly into Salt Lake City International airport you will rarely be delayed in making your powder day appointments. The newly constructed airport is a Desitnation In Its Own Right

Utah resorts continually land in the top spots in awards for snow quality, ease of access and value. You won't be surprised to know that ten resorts are just an hour's drive from the airport.

Guests can schedule ground transportation to and from Snowbird/SLC Airport, at the time that lodging is booked. The round-trip cost is $114 per adult for shared transportation, or $57.00 one-way.  Guests will need to have their flight information or pick up information at the time of booking so we can make those arrangements.  If guests do not have their flight information or pick up information at the time of booking, they can call us back (1-800-453-3000), no later than 3 days prior to their arrival date to get that added.

Shuttle and Limo Discounts

Airport shuttles can be pre-arranged while booking lodging through Snowbird Central Reservations. Current Group pricing is $49.00 each way. Same-day walk-ups are accepted at a higher rate on a space available basis at the Alta Shuttle desk located on Level 1 (Ground Transportation) of the Salt Lake International Airport.

Hotel Parking

Guest Self Parking for guests is complimentary. Valet parking is $20/night.

How To Prevent High Altitude Illness

Move to higher altitudes gradually. Give your body time to acclimate and adjust. After 8000 feet, ascend no more than 1000 feet per day. Keep in mind that it is easier to prevent many altitude related symptoms than to treat them once they develop. For more detailed information visit ismmed.org

• If you have a headache or lack of coordination or other symptoms of altitude illness, don’t go any higher.
• If possible, sleep at a lower altitude than you are at during the day.
• Ask your doctor if medications for altitude illness (acetazolamide (Diamox, Dazamide)) would be helpful for you.
• Carry rain gear/warm clothing because mountain weather can change quickly.
• Drink plenty of liquids while exercising (16-32 oz/hour or more in hotter weather).
• Wear light-colored clothes that wick moisture, like Cool-Max.
• Use sunscreen to help prevent sunburn.
• If you feel your performance drop quickly, rest and try to cool off.
• Do not drink alcohol/caffeine before or immediately after exercising at altitude.
